Overview
Ensures a safe and productive operation with optimal use of resources. Supervises and develops a team of production staff to continually improve safety, talent, quality, production, and delivery performance. Drives a culture of problem solving for continuous improvement and cost reduction. This position is 100% onsite and requires regular presence during core operating hours (typically between 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. EST) including rotating weekends.
Hours may change based on operational needs.
- Attain daily Key Performance Indicators for the area managed, including safety, talent, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct audits (LPA, EHS, 5S, and others as assigned).
- Ensure operational processes within and across shifts follow standard work, work instructions, process sheets, TCPs, and other area documentation.
- Apply and execute policies and standards; organize material and inventory to reach production targets and work-in-process goals.
- Evaluate production needs and assign or adjust available resources to meet daily demand.
- Strategically analyze production data to develop and execute action plans for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all equipment is routinely maintained for TPM levels 1–3 as applicable.
- Supervise training processes for a team of production staff across multiple departments and shifts; coach and develop Team Leaders and Area Leaders.
- Assess and complete performance reviews with qualitative and quantitative feedback aligned with HR Business Partner and Manager.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping and update reasons for absences daily for the area managed.
- Drive daily maintenance prioritization based on production needs.
- Facilitate daily Team Leader review meetings for coaching and development.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional groups to identify opportunities and resolve issues across shifts.
- Actively participate in core team meetings to drive KPIs using Pareto analysis and problem-solving tools (A3, 8D, Shainin).
- Education:
High school diploma required;
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. - Experience:
2+ years in a lean manufacturing environment; 2+ years leading hourly employees. - Skills:
Proficiency with computer technology and Microsoft Office; knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing and process optimization. - Travel:
Up to 5% of the time may be required.
