American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least one year of Epic EMR experience.
Requirements- Active SC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry or related unit experience
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Cardiac Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Adult patients in observation status and inpatient overflow
- Patient population includes chest pain/acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, diabetes, syncope, CVA/TIA/stroke workup, heart failure, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, and permanent pacemaker insertion
- Procedures include cardiac/telemetry monitoring, permanent pacemaker pacing, TEE, negative pressure isolation (AFB), thoracentesis/paracentesis, and Level 3 IV infusions and IV push medications
- Medication systems:
Pyxis and Omnicell - EMR:
Epic (minimum 1 year of experience required) - Schedule:
3x12-hour night shifts, 19:00–07:30 - Every other weekend required, with potential schedule changes based on unit needs
- Floating required to like units at the same hospital or nearby Prisma Health campuses based on census needs
- Responsibilities include cardiac/telemetry monitoring, patient assessment, coordination of testing and procedures, administration of continuous IV infusions, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and specialty services (cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, neurology)
- Floating is system-wide across Prisma Health units and campuses; staff will only float to units for which they have demonstrated and documented competencies
- Night shift travelers for Adult Cardiac Telemetry must reside at least 50 miles from the specific campus they are applying to in order to be eligible
- First-time travelers will be considered depending on experience
