Nursing Assistant; NA - Cardiac Telemetry, Part-Time

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assumes responsibility for the collection of data related to patient status. Performs basic nursing procedures. Continues to collect and document patient data. Assists with treatments and procedures. Assists with maintenance of patient care equipment.

• Assists patients with activities of daily living and hygiene. Turns and repositions patients alone or with assistance. May transport patients and assist with walking. Assists adult/pediatric patients with toileting needs, emptying established colostomy bags and removing urinary catheters. Assists with fall prevention interventions and patient restraints as delegated. Removes and reapplying anti‑embolism hose or compression devices.
• Assists with admission of patients to the unit by preparing rooms, greeting, and orienting patients and/or families to the unit (bed, call light, phone, TV).
• Takes and records vital signs and repeats questionable values.
• Prepares patients for meals, assists in feeding, and provides snacks and supplements.
• Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens. Delivers specimens to the appropriate department as requested.
• Completes documentation in EMR accurately and timely.
• Maintains cleanliness and order of hospital room, utility room, diet kitchen, hallways, and alcoves. Disposes of excess linen and keeps linen emptied.
• Performs point‑of‑care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Reports lab values to RN.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a non‑management job that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

• Education:
  
  Completion of a nursing assistant program preferred.
• Experience:
  
  No previous experience required.
