Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Service Department as a Junior Marine Technician. In this entry-level role, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to diagnose, repair, and maintain various boats and marine engines, while gaining hands-on experience in the marine industry. As you develop your skills, you will contribute to ensuring customers receive top-tier service with an emphasis on learning and growth.

Essential Functions:
Perform basic routine maintenance including oil changes, winterization, and spark plug & battery replacements.
Assist with boat repairs, installations, and maintenance on engines and vessel components.
Support technicians by gathering tools, checking parts inventory, filling fluids, and operating boats during diagnostics.
Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with experienced technician support.
Collaborate with the team to address repair challenges, establish workflows, and estimate time frames.
Review repair orders and vessel specifications to determine and assist with necessary work.
Conduct safety inspections and review service histories to inform customers of recommended maintenance.
Assist with light refurbishment work at select locations.
Track time and labor for repair orders while minimizing non-billable tasks.
Ensure boats are cleaned up before returning them to customers.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Occasionally assist in supporting other roles, including moving boats in the absence of a Lot Crew.
Participate in company-required training sessions, meetings, and communications via email and Microsoft Teams.
Assist with occasional onsite and offsite promotional events and boat shows, including setup and breakdown as needed.
Any additional duties assigned for success.
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
Basic mechanical or technical experience gained professionally or through personal projects.
Willingness to pursue industry certifications and expand technical knowledge.
Familiarity with tools and their uses; must provide personal basic-use mechanical tools and toolbox.
Basic computer literacy.
Ability to read and write professional summaries of completed work.
Commitment to safety standards.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving,Solid work ethic.
Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that meets company standards, along with a clear background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a mechanical or technical trade (e.g., automotive, powersports, A/C, telecommunications, etc.).Completion of postsecondary education, trade school, or certification in a technical field.
Knowledge of boats and their operation.
