Insulator Journeyman Certified No Per Diem Long Term Maintenance

Journeyman - Typically 3 years and above documented field experience in chosen craft discipline with ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently. Responsibilities include applying, removing, and repairing insulation on equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems to help control noise and maintain temperatures. This role requires reading and interpreting blueprints, determining the amounts and selecting required insulation material, moving materials and equipment to work locations, covering, sealing, or finishing insulated surfaces, installing sheet metal around insulated pipes, measuring and cutting insulation, preparing surfaces for insulation application, following hazardous waste handling guidelines, and observing and complying with all safety and project rules.

Job requirements include working within precise limits or standards of accuracy, applying shop mathematics to solve problems, planning work and selecting proper tools, comparing and seeing differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects, visualizing objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings, making decisions based on measurable criteria, and working at heights without fear.

Qualifications may require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area. Physical requirements include standing 70%, walking 20%, sitting 10%, lifting 50 lb., carrying 50 lb., pushing 70 ft-lb., pulling 70 ft-lb., climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering.
