Job DutiesThe APS Team Leader is responsible for overseeing daily program operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of protective services to vulnerable adults in accordance with state policy and best practices. Coordinates workloads, monitors performance, and provides guidance to ensure timely, appropriate interventions that promote safety, well-being, and the least restrictive environment. Acts as a liaison with state partners and community stakeholders, ensures compliance with reporting and documentation requirements, and supports program accountability through data review and quality assurance.
Provides support during emergency response operations to maintain continuity of services.
Supervises APS staff by coordinating workloads, assigning responsibilities, and conducting case reviews of assessments, service plans, and documentation in CAPSS. Ensures services are delivered in a timely, appropriate manner that promotes client safety, dignity, and self-determination. Maintains compliance with documentation standards and may carry a limited caseload, support other counties, and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Monitors and evaluates staff performance through review of APS batch reports and other performance data. Holds staff accountable for meeting program goals and delivering effective protective services while ensuring interventions align with the least restrictive environment appropriate to each client.
Coordinates communication and collaboration with community partners, clients, families, and internal staff to support program operations, strengthen service delivery, and maintains effective working relationships across disciplines.
Assesses and supports clients' access to long-term services, including facilitating financial resources, guardianship or conservatorship, emergency services, and coordination with probate or family court as appropriate.
Serves as liaison with the State Office and Adult Advocacy Division. Ensures required reports, referrals, and documentation are accurate, complete, and submitted within established time frames, including Critical Incident Reports, Medicaid documentation, ACP, Mental Health, OIDD, and Emergency Funds.
Supports emergency response operations, including Red Cross sheltering and disaster-related services; coordinates documentation, monitoring, and development of client emergency plans.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsA Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration or a related field and three (3) years experience in Human Services or Social Services Programs. A Master's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Public Administration or a related field and one (1) year of experience in Human Services or Social Services Programs.
