Position Summary
The Materials Associate is directly responsible for performing receiving, shipping, and storage functions in support of production operations according to established procedures, including safe handling and accurate reporting of all material relocations.
KeyRoles & Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials (pallets, trays, racks, and trailers) using pallet jacks, forklifts, order‑pickers, and dollies.
- Receive materials into the company system, verify against pack lists, count, weigh parts, and contact the buying team to resolve discrepancies.
- Pick parts for shipment and packaging according to shipping procedures.
- Issue materials to departments upon request, transacting inventory quantities and delivering parts to work areas.
- Monitor inventory and report discrepancies to the team leader.
- Assist with stock replenishment, rotation, combining, and cycle counting.
- Transfer parts between bin locations using the company operation system and prepare and package them for shipment.
- Adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies and safely operate all certified equipment.
- Read and follow work instructions or oral instructions to execute material flow requirements.
- Manually load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, baskets, and shelves as required.
- Accurately enter transactional information into SAP and other systems.
- Use electronic and manual bill of materials, pull sheets, and pick sheets to retrieve necessary materials for operations.
- Support 5S and housekeeping activities as required.
- Use deviation areas, hold tags to process defective parts through non‑conforming material procedures.
- Load and unload materials into trailers while adhering to dock safety protocols.
- Meet physical logistics KPI’s, associate engagement, teamwork, FIFO standards, and wear required PPE.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
The role requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling, close eye work, reaching, pulling, or pushing, and occasional work from heights. Employees must lift up to 35 pounds repetitively, step up and down, and walk long distances, while wearing personal protective equipment and complying with safety policies.

High‑school diploma, GED, or a basic skills assessment. Six months of experience in a fast‑paced industrial lean environment. One year of material handling experience in a distribution environment preferred, with prior experience using RF scanning. One year of experience as a certified equipment/forklift operator with an active license is preferred.
Computer SkillsExperience with SAP or a related warehouse management system is preferred, as well as basic MS Word and Excel skills.
