** This role requires full time on site presence.
**** Your role
** Based in Sept-Îles and reporting to the Senior Manager, News & Current Affairs and Content Development, for Quebec’s North Shore (TV/radio/digital), you will work as a journalist assigned to cover the arts and culture scene for Radio-Canada’s digital platforms.

You will develop your own stories covering a wide range of topics, ensuring content adheres to CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices. As a journalist, you will provide daily coverage of North Shore arts/cultural issues and events with clarity, depth, originality and accuracy.

You must also be able to work well in a team and on several stories at once, have strong organizational skills and be an excellent writer.

Flexibility is required, as shifts may vary.

You must maintain a large network of contacts, pitch story ideas related to the North Shore region and provide in-depth and follow-up reporting.

* Qualifications:

*** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
* Three years’ journalism experience or equivalent.
*
* Skills:

*** Good general and current-events knowledge.
* Good knowledge of the local, provincial, national and international creative scenes.
* Solid command of writing and story research techniques.
* Creative, enterprising and inquisitive approach to fact-gathering.
* Strong knowledge of the North Shore region and its key players.
* Superior French-language skills (language of work), with outstanding spelling and grammar; advanced oral and writing proficiency.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines.
* Ability to thrive in a team environment while being a resourceful self-starter.
* Team-playing skills, along with an excellent attitude and work ethic.
* Strong personal initiative and independence in creating digital content.
* Social media knowledge.
* Understanding of and commitment to upholding CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
