DescriptionJamestown Salish Seasons (JSS) is seeking compassionate, dependable, and recovery-oriented Recovery Support Assistants (RSAs) to join our 16-bed voluntary residential behavioral health treatment facility. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting individuals experiencing behavioral health crises in a safe, welcoming, trauma-informed, and culturally grounded healing environment.
As a Recovery Support Assistant, you will be a consistent and supportive presence for residents, helping maintain a therapeutic milieu through safety monitoring, relationship-based support, daily living assistance, and operational support. You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team dedicated to promoting dignity, emotional safety, recovery, and holistic wellness.

This position supports our 24/7 residential behavioral health program, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, while providing a consistent schedule and concentrated days off.
Essential FunctionsResident Safety & Healing Environment
- Conduct regular, documented resident safety checks and maintain environmental awareness to support a safe and secure healing setting.
- Provide a calm, supportive, and visible presence within the therapeutic milieu.
- Utilize verbal de-escalation, redirection, and trauma-informed engagement techniques to support emotional regulation and resident safety.
- Participate in resident safety holds only when necessary for immediate protection and in accordance with approved training, protocols, and supervision.
Resident Support & Engagement
- Support residents with daily living activities and general day-to-day needs within the program environment.
- Facilitate and participate in resident leisure, recreation, and recovery-oriented activities such as games, wellness groups, and community-based outings.
- Provide safe transportation for residents to appointments, approved activities, or other program-related needs as assigned.
- Encourage respectful participation, engagement, and relationship-building within the therapeutic milieu.
Operational & Facility Support
- Assist with meal service, laundry support, room readiness, and upkeep of resident and common areas.
- Support a clean, welcoming, and organized environment that reinforces dignity and recovery.
- Assist with medication room workflow support (including stocking, organization, and escorting residents) but do not prepare, handle, or administer medications.
- Perform non-licensed operational duties as directed by the Recovery Support Lead, nursing staff, or JSS leadership.
Documentation & Team Collaboration
- Accurately document safety checks, significant resident interactions, incidents, and other required observations according to policy.
- Collaborate closely with the Recovery Support Lead and broader multidisciplinary care team.
- Participate in shift handoff communication and timely reporting of safety or resident concerns.
- Support consistent implementation of program routines, expectations, and healing environment standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- CPR/First Aid Certification and Washington State Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain within onboarding timelines).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.
- Successfully pass a criminal background investigation.

- Ability to support individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges and emotional distress using non-clinical, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches.

- Ability to build rapport, maintain therapeutic boundaries, and foster trust.
- Ability to support a safe, structured, and emotionally supportive therapeutic milieu.
- Understanding of the emotional demands of behavioral health work, with a demonstrated commitment to personal wellness and resilience.
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, social, tribal, underserved, and lived-experience backgrounds.
- Ability to support culturally respectful practices and environments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
