Introduction

Are you a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in your community? The Jamestown Family Health Clinic is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join our collaborative healthcare team. In this role, you'll provide exceptional patient care while working alongside physicians, ARNPs, PA-Cs, and other licensed healthcare providers in a patient-centered primary care setting.

Schedule:

Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

What You’ll Do
  • Provide services consistent with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Occupational Analysis and skill sets.
  • Room patients and obtain/document vital signs, patient history (when appropriate), and chief complaints according to provider direction and clinic protocols.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records, including scanning, recording, and updating patient information.
  • Process provider orders, prescription refill requests, medication and procedure prior authorizations, and pre-certifications.
  • Record patient charges for electronic billing as needed.
  • Assist providers with patient education and follow-up care instructions.
  • Communicate laboratory and radiology results as directed by the provider.
  • Prepare patients for laboratory and radiology procedures.
  • Schedule diagnostic testing and specialty referrals.
  • Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, perform procedures including:
    • EKGs
    • Ear lavages
    • CLIA-waived laboratory testing
    • Venipuncture
    • Wound dressings
  • Administer IM, sub‑Q, nasal medications, and immunizations as ordered.
  • Recognize and appropriately respond to urgent or emergent situations following clinic protocols.
  • Perform basic patient triage according to office protocols.
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, medications, and immunizations.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with providers, staff, leadership, and external agencies.
  • Participate in staff and clinic meetings.
  • Maintain professional appearance, conduct, and patient confidentiality.
  • Follow all JST and JFHC policies and procedures, including safety standards, HIPAA requirements, and the Occupational Exposure Control Plan.
  • Document work processes as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a 1-2 year (4-6 quarter) accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
  • CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assisting Program or LPN Program preferred.
  • Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential.
  • Current Basic First Aid/CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Medication administration procedures
    • CPT and ICD‑10 coding
    • Medical terminology
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using EPIC electronic health records.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong time management, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • American Indian/Alaska Native hiring preference applies.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to hear adequately for stethoscope and telephone use.
  • Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 30 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, squat, twist, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Good manual dexterity and eye‑hand coordination.
  • Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced clinical environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Must be available to work any shift, including weekends or holidays, if operational needs require.
