The Jamestown Family Dental Clinic (JFDC) is seeking a Custodial Maintenance Technician to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our facility. This is a full‑time position, working Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The successful candidate will work independently to perform routine custodial duties, groundskeeping, and light maintenance in strict adherence to OSHA/WISHA standards and clinic infection control policies. This role is essential in providing a sanitary and professional environment for our dental practice.
Key Responsibilities- Custodial Duties:
Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors; dusting; vacuuming; cleaning and restocking restrooms; and emptying/disposing of trash. - Maintenance & Repair:
Execute minor maintenance and repair work on electrical circuits, plumbing fixtures, waterlines, lights, and partitions; clean clogged drains; and maintain heavy‑duty floor machines (washers, buffers). - Infection Control:
Clean and sterilize surgical, dental, and medical equipment per protocol, strictly following established Clinic cleaning routes and infection control procedures. - Grounds & Facility Upkeep:
Perform groundskeeping, pressure washing, debris removal, replacing light bulbs, adjusting furniture, and assisting with snow removal and deicing. - Operational Support:
Maintain parts and equipment supplies; unlock/secure doors; report needs/concerns to appropriate staff; and perform occasional office assistant duties such as shopping and errands.
- Experience:
Two (2) years of custodial, maintenance, or related experience. - Skills:
Previous experience using a variety of cleaning tools and equipment. - Communication:
Ability to interpret and follow written guidelines and verbal instructions. - Professionalism:
- Ability to interact with others in a professional, compassionate, and culturally competent manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work well as a member of a team.
- Work Ethic:
- Strong organization, prioritization, and multiple‑tasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive manner.
- Demonstrate initiative and work independently with little supervision.
- General:
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally as assigned.
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid WA Drivers License
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Effective time management, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
- Demonstrate initiative, work independently with little supervision
- American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply
