Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, a strong understanding of veterinary medicine, and a genuine love for animals. This role involves assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, providing compassionate care to our patients, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians in the examination and treatment of animals, including restraining animals during procedures
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
  • Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis
  • Take X-rays and assist with Ultrasound
  • Properly intubate patients and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
  • Properly extubate patients and provide post-operative care and monitoring
  • Educate and communicate with clients about their pets' health, medications, and treatments
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment
Qualifications
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Strong knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to veterinary care
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and medical record-keeping
  • Fear Free Certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification
