The JKT, Development Inc., Concrete Laborer performs a variety of labor tasks and operates small hand-held tools and equipment to support the daily operation of residential and/or commercial concrete projects. Duties include, but are not limited to, site preparation, measuring, digging, staking, building concrete forms, loading/unloading of tools or materials, and pouring concrete. The Concrete Laborer may also be required to apply stains like sealants and waterproofing after finishing concrete.

Our projects include Excavation, Grading, Underground Utilities, Demolition, Rock Walls, Clearing, Trucking, Site Preparation, and Septic System Installation.
Essential Functions- Communicate clear instructions and prompt hand signals to equipment operators.
- Follow both written and verbal instructions given by project leads.
- Assist supervisors and operators on concrete projects and or other projects.
- Comply with Federal, state, and local regulations, including the appropriate use of PPE.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety and work practices.
- Operate small handheld power tools.
- May operate small equipment including skid steer, mini excavator, forklift.
- Build and set up forms.
- Learn concrete design mixes.
- Assist with concrete pours.
- Use wire mesh or rebar to reinforce concrete when applicable.
- Level and finish concrete.
- Edge expansion joints and edges when applicable.
- Use stains or colors to add finishing touches when needed.
- Add small stones or other materials for decoration when needed.
- Apply waterproofing and sealant to protect concrete work when needed.
- Understand cure rates for finish work.
- Monitor concrete to insure a harden and durable finish.
- Perform Other Duties as assigned.
- Effective time management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Ability to travel including but not limited to jobsites and suppliers.
- Must be able to successfully pass criminal background investigation.
- Knowledge of working with different types of concrete mixes and concrete finishes.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic concrete knowledge.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Understanding of survey interpretation and survey layout.
- Concrete finishing experience.
- Ability to measure and lay out grades.
- American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply.
