The Jamestown Healing Clinic (JHC) is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Transportation Driver to join our integrated healthcare team. In this role, you'll provide safe, reliable transportation for patients traveling to and from medical appointments while supporting a welcoming, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment.

This is a per diem (as-needed) position with varied hours Monday through Saturday, between 5:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Flexibility and reliability are essential to meet the transportation needs of our patients.

As part of our integrated care model, you'll work alongside professionals providing primary care, dental, behavioral health, and opioid use disorder treatment, helping ensure patients can access the services they need.

Essential Functions Safely transport patients (and, when applicable, their children) to and from JHC appointments using JHC vehicles.

Ensure transportation services are provided safely, professionally, and in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.

Instruct passengers on vehicle safety procedures and ensure seatbelt and child safety requirements are followed.

Ensure child safety rules and expectations are upheld at all times.

Build positive relationships with patients and coworkers to provide exceptional customer service.

Support patients and families with professionalism, compassion, punctuality, and cultural sensitivity.

Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and 42 CFR regulations.

Safely transport medical supplies and laboratory specimens according to established procedures.

Operate wheelchair lifts following all safety protocols.

Maintain appropriate passenger conduct and report behavioral concerns to management.

Complete daily vehicle inspections, monitor maintenance schedules, and maintain accurate operational records.

Immediately report delays, vehicle issues, or accidents to the Transportation Manager or assigned staff.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Follow all JHC policies and procedures related to safety, confidentiality, and workplace standards.

Minimum Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older.

High school diploma or GED.Extremely reliable, dependable, and punctual.

Washington State Department of Licensing driver abstract with five (5) years of verifiable driving experience and a good driving record.

Minimum one (1) year of experience in medical transportation, paratransit, passenger transportation, emergency vehicle operation, military transportation, or a related field.

Comfortable transporting patients traveling with children.

Ability to properly secure child safety seats in accordance with Washington State law.

Comfortable driving in adverse weather conditions.

Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.

Knowledge of vehicle safety procedures and security practices.

Ability to remain calm and professional in unusual or challenging situations.

Comfortable working with patients in recovery from substance use disorders, individuals with mental health conditions, and those experiencing homelessness.

Knowledge of and ability to comply with state (RCW/WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR Part
2).Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Culturally sensitive to the diverse needs of JHC patients.

Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Must meet all current employment vaccine requirements.

CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain employer-provided certification upon hire.

Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation.

Valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Knowledge of office administrative operations, personnel management, and compliance.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.

Strong time management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
