Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center provides investigative support through the extraction and analysis of electronic devices, criminal case support, trend analysis, cryptocurrency tracing, and dark web investigations.
Job DescriptionOhio Department of Public Safety – Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center – Report in location: 6000 Lombardo Center, Seven Hills, Ohio 44131.
Responsibilities- Develop proper research tools, methods, and intelligence request forms to appropriately accommodate intelligence information.
- Identify and analyze informational databases, spreadsheets, and reports to allow information to be easily exchanged and understood.
- Prepare intelligence reports, products, and briefings for presentation to all public safety partners.
- Coordinate interstate and intrastate information.
- Provide operational guidance to partners.
- Medical coverage.

- Option 1: 36 months experience conducting research and writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical, and/or statistical research techniques.
- Option 2:
Completion of an undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs, or a related field, and 12 months experience conducting research and writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical, and/or statistical research techniques. - Alternatively meet the minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
Training and Development: If required, must obtain LEADS certification; must renew LEADS certification biannually. Additionally, some positions at the Department of Public Safety must obtain and maintain a secret level federal security clearance.

Working Conditions:
May require some travel. Working hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational need.
Background Check Information: A BCI and FBI fingerprint check, a background check including a polygraph examination, may be required on all selected applicants. A comparative analysis and/or drug test may be required as part of the hiring process. This position is identified as safety sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DPS 501.24.
