About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and highly respected HVAC specialist with over four decades of industry success, is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Lead Installations Engineer to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Air Conditioning Lead Installations Engineer who enjoys leading from the front, delivering high-quality installations, and developing junior engineers. The successful Air Conditioning Lead Installations Engineer will oversee small installation teams across commercial and high-end domestic projects throughout the UK.

This role would suit a hands-on Air Conditioning Lead Installations Engineer who thrives in a leadership position while remaining technically involved in installations.

The Role – Air Conditioning Lead Installations Engineer

As the Air Conditioning Lead Installations Engineer, you will take responsibility for managing installation projects from initial site survey through to commissioning and handover. You will ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities of the Air Conditioning Lead Installations Engineer include:

* Conducting site surveys and carrying out detailed risk assessments

* Ordering materials and arranging deliveries to site

* Overseeing subcontractors, crane lifts, and scaffolding as required

* Leading and coordinating the installation of VRV, VRF, and split air conditioning systems

* Interpreting HVAC schematics, design drawings, and technical plans

* Supervising, mentoring, and developing installation engineers

* Performing brazing, pipe bending, and refrigeration system works

* Carrying out system testing, commissioning, and calibration

* Maintaining installation documentation and compliance records

* Collaborating with project managers, property maintenance teams, and clients

* Travelling to sites across the UK, with overnight stays where required

* Attending North Kent offices for meetings with colleagues and directors as needed

Requirements

To be considered for the Air Conditioning Lead Installations Engineer role, candidates must have:

* Minimum 10 years’ experience installing VRV / VRF / Split systems

* Proven experience leading installation teams

* Strong background in HVAC/R and refrigeration systems

* City & Guilds qualifications (essential)

* F-Gas certification (essential)

* Strong mechanical skills including brazing and pipe bending

* Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams

* Experience in commissioning and system testing

* Excellent communication and leadership skills

* Full UK driving licence with clean record

Previous service technician experience and knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, and appliance repair would be advantageous
