Are you annoyed when your map app gives you bad directions? Join the cutting-edge Navy Aeronautical data team ensuring Naval aircraft never experience bad navigation advice in the cockpit.
Essential Job Functions:- Assist with the integration of aeronautical data into aircraft and mission planning systems for Performance-Based Navigation. Analyze the aeronautical data chain from source to final point of use. Perform aeronautical data validation.
- Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Bachelor's degree in any Engineering discipline (to include math and science) plus 5 or more years of experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance.
- Experience with Navy mission planning systems.
- Experience in Systems & Software requirements analysis, design, and systems integration pertaining to medium to high complexity aircraft avionics hardware/software systems.
- Familiar with software programming languages and software testing.
- Understanding of aeronautical data formats such as DAFIF, ARINC 424, and aircraft binary formats.
- Working knowledge of aircraft navigation and related systems.
- Excellent technical, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Skills:
- Experience as a pilot, aircraft navigator, or air traffic control specialist.
- Expertise in DO-200/201 processes and requirements.
- TERPS training.
- Familiar with SQL and Access VBA.
