Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continuous access to AWS services. We work on challenging problems with many variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people to help.

AWS is looking for fully cleared Data Center Technicians to join our Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Technicians are the primary resolvers and troubleshooters who address a range of data center infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems.

• Engage in physical data center activities with or without reasonable accommodation, including planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning.
• Lifting and moving material up to 49 pounds.
• Work in cramped and/or elevated locations.
• Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
• Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
• Work in a noisy environment.
• Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).

• Take ownership of technical issues reported by customers, engaging other teams to drive resolution.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude.
• Solve problems at their root and understand broader context.
• Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
• Be proactive and act in the absence of direction or support.
• Improve effectiveness through process innovation.

This position may be located at one of multiple sites and may involve day, night, weekend, or holiday shifts.

• High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

• A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+.
• Hands-on experience with one or more hardware platforms (e.g., Dell, HP).
• Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
• Previous experience in a Data Center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot and cold aisle containment).
• Associate’s degree in IT-related field plus two years of progressively responsible experience (preferred).
