Location:

Severn, MD Production Operations Facility (Lockheed Martin).

• Program, set‑up, and operate 3‑ and 4‑axis vertical CNC machines independently.
• Modify CNC programs to optimize machine usage and minimize scrap.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, production diagrams, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions to fabricate complex machined components.
• Perform shop calculations to layout difficult patterns and determine tooling feeds and speeds.
• Fabricate with a variety of materials, including aluminum, steel, copper, brass, plastics, and exotic alloys.
• Utilize drill presses, manual milling machines, lathes, sanders, and other hand and powered tools.
• Support prototype development with mechanical design engineers, ensuring manufacturability of prototype machined parts and assemblies.
• Perform in‑process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and precision measuring instruments.
• Inspect work for conformance to specifications and conduct first‑article checks on difficult production runs.
• Recommend improvements in methods or processes to enhance productivity and quality.
• Experience with CNC punch presses, CNC brakes, and shears desired; metal finishing, painting, or powder coating experience a plus.

• Experience programming and operating 3‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Experience with Solid Works CAD software and Master Cam or similar tools.
• Experience identifying raw materials required for fabrication.
• Experience fabricating complex electronic enclosures.
• Experience providing labor and material estimates for prototype and production builds.
• Ability to work in an automated factory using digital work instructions or travelers.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance.

• Experience working in a space manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting DFM and MRR reviews.
• Experience fabricating sheet metal chassis and components, including CNC punches and welding.
• Experience programming and operating 4‑ or 5‑axis CNC milling machines.
• Experience painting, powder coating, engraving, and silk screening.
• Experience with a quality management system such as AS9100 and ability to support internal audits.
• Ability to develop digital travelers.
• Active Secret security clearance.

This position requires a government security clearance at the Secret level. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

Onsite full‑time. 9×80 schedule with every other Friday off.

Annual base salary range: $67,900 – $119,715 (states specified) and varies by location.
