This is a challenging and rewarding position supporting the manufacturing of air and space‑based RF systems in our Severn Operations of Lockheed Martin. The role involves working closely with the Engineering and Manufacturing teams to build prototypes and support New Product Integration (NPI) and production builds.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect purchased parts and materials for conformance to specifications, examining items for defects, measuring dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation according to prints, part manuals, company standards, and other specifications.
  • Review supplier certifications, packing slips, and test reports to ensure compliance with Lockheed Martin flow‑down requirements.
  • Identify, label, and document defective, damaged, or non‑conforming materials.
  • Provide direct Quality Assurance ownership and oversight of Receiving Inspection labs; aid in the development and establishment of metrics reporting structures.
  • Provide mentorship and training to personnel in support of new processes and equipment use.
  • Participate in regular MRBs (Material Review Board) to ensure non‑conforming material/process is appropriately handled.
Basic Qualifications
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in a Receiving Inspection environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and blueprints.
  • Good understanding of AS9100 standard and support with internal & external audits as required.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
  • High level of accuracy in identifying defects and maintaining records.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP/MRP systems.
Desired Skills
  • Previous experience in a Quality role supporting Aerospace, NASA, and/or FAA programs.
  • Experience recommending and implementing quality improvements based on metrics; identifying solutions related to materials, design, and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to tailor level of effort based on customer requirements and expectations.
  • Works independently with limited supervision.
