Description
The Digital Modernization Sector has a career opportunity for a Service Now Release Manager supporting the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract s contract includes the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). It also includes support to other key tasks for DISA, including the transformation of DISA’s operational mission through innovation, and support to DISA’s mission partners.
Candidate must be able to be on site at Fort Meade, MD. At a minimum, a Secret clearance is required upon the start of employment and within 14 days following the start date the employee must obtain their Security + certification.
The Release Manager is responsible for working within a fast paced, Agile team to support the management of requirements, promotion of update sets from one environment to the next, design, integration, and delivery of new functionality in support existing frameworks in the AWS Cloud. This position would support requirements, design, integration, and deployment of new automated capabilities for end users. The Release Manager will oversee the development, testing, deployment, and support involved in the design and releases of the Joint Management Tool and Teleport efforts.
The release manager will incorporate goals and long-term strategic planning, as well as the individual tactical steps employed to help reach those goals.
Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate primary responsibility will:
Plan and guide cross functional teams in executing project tasks using the principles of Lean Agile development. Additionally, this position will play a pivotal role in collaborating with Product Owners, requirements team, development teams, and other stakeholders to mitigate dependencies, incorporate strategies to address technical debt, and implement configuration and code.
Collaborate with process owner(s), technical leads, and a variety of process stakeholders.
Release manager is responsible for all minor and significant releases.
Have excellent analysis, communication and problem-solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer.
Lead and own the established release management process, including the assessment, analysis, planning and design of release packages, update sets and assessment of risk.
Drive cross-team, functional impediments, planning, collaboration, and coordination.
Help the release team escalate and remove impediments.
Lead teams: provide coaching on the release process to help resolve process issues.
Ability to build product roadmap in Jira.
Experience developing metrics and reports for tracking sprint, project, and overall program execution.
Proven track record in implementing Agile methodologies to improve software delivery.
Excellent stakeholder management and ability to manage their demands.
Working closely with End Users, Software, Data, and Dev Ops Engineers, and Data Scientists.
Assisting in defining processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility.
Identifying the ‘As-Is’ process and working with the Product Owner, SMEs, and developers to create the ‘To-Be’ process.
Tracking, monitoring and making updates to user stories directly in the Atlassian Jira tool.
Develop business process maps using a standard methodology and toolset.
Collaborating with colleagues to monitor and report technical variances; facilitating resolution of technical issues that adversely impact successful product delivery.
Quickly adapt to customer dynamic environment and adopt their processes and foster innovative ideas.
Asking questions & raising concerns as soon as possible without being prompted
Employing exceptional problem-solving skills
Basic Qualifications
Requires a US Citizenship.
Must hold an active DoD Secret clearance.
Must be able to commute to Ft. Meade, MD for full time on-site support
