Job Overview
Smart Bank is seeking a teller to provide exceptional customer service, process transactions accurately, and support daily branch operations while upholding bank policies and values.
Responsibilities- Uphold Smart Bank Core Values and Core Purpose, and embrace the Smart Bank Way by Acting Smart, Looking Smart, and Being Smart.
- Create a WOW experience by greeting clients warmly, directing them to the appropriate personnel, and assisting with in‑person and telephone inquiries while maintaining confidentiality.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures of the branch to accommodate dual control.
- Process deposits, withdrawals, cashier’s checks, inventory items, loan payments, local utilities, and other services in accordance with bank policies.
- Process client account maintenance requests such as change of address and stop payments in a timely manner.
- Assist with ATM balancing and control the assigned cash drawer and negotiable items.
- Maintain an acceptable balancing record per established standards and take responsibility for achieving objectives, actions, and decisions.
- Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local banking laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti‑Money Laundering policies.
- Complete required paperwork and report discrepancies or suspicious activity to the Assistant Financial Center Manager, Financial Center Manager, or Security Officer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum one year of banking experience preferred; sales experience preferred.
- Training Requirements – None.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to apply knowledge and sound judgment using established guidelines.
- Cash handling experience.
- Knowledge of teller drawer equipment (PODs, recyclers, traditional cash drawer) preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook); typing and ten‑key proficiency preferred.
- Strong math, written, and oral communication skills.
- Detail oriented, team environment, positive attitude, high integrity.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Willingness to accept new ideas and methods and adapt to change.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and stoop routinely.
- Occasionally lift or carry loads up to 40 pounds.
- Stand for long periods as needed.
- Frequent movements using wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Average visual acuity required to prepare and inspect documents.
- Average hearing required for normal conversations.
- May be required to travel to branch locations, training sessions, or meetings.
- Must be available to work the branch schedule, including Saturdays.
