SUMMARY: A Room Attendant works alone or as part of a team to clean hotel room.

The attendant is responsible for tasks such as wiping down surfaces, cleaning windows, vacuuming, mopping and emptying trash bins.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Cleans guest rooms and guest areas, including but not limited to; making beds; dusting; and vacuuming; cleaning bathroom; replenishing supplies, cleaning windows, mirrors and patios.
  • Cleans guest rooms in allotted time period as determined by management, using the proper procedures and chemicals provided by management.
  • Empties wastebaskets as needed.
  • Uses the chemicals that have been provided in accordance with directions; familiarizes self with material safety data sheets and uses PPE (personal protective equipment) as necessary.
  • Ensure rooms are completed and signed off on in the appropriate time frame.
  • Maintains a stocked, organized and clean cart with sufficient supplies.
  • Documents, secures lost and found items and turns them into Lost & Found, in accordance with Company policy.
  • Practices safety procedures, including bending, lifting and safe use of equipment.
  • Communicates with guest in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Keeps supplies ready by restocking housekeeping cart at end of shift
  • Completes the required form, as soon as possible, upon discovering any damage to property in hotel rooms or common areas or items missing from room inventory-then submit them to Manager.
  • This position requires regular and predictable attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATIONS and/or

EXPERIENCE:

Level 1

No prior experience or training

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:
Level 2

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
