Position SummaryWe’re hiring a Bodywork Technician to support surface prep, repair, and finishing work across creative builds and fabrication projects. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-driven, fast, consistent, and takes pride in clean work.
You’ll be responsible for bodywork from rough shaping through finish-ready surfaces, working closely with fabrication and finishing teams to ensure projects are smooth, straight, and ready for paint or final coatings.
Key Responsibilities- Perform bodywork and surface correction on a variety of substrates (metal, fiberglass, wood, composites, plastics, etc.)
- Sanding, shaping, smoothing, filling, and prepping surfaces to finish-ready quality
- Apply fillers (Bondo/body filler), glazing putty, primers, and surfacers as needed
- Block sanding and surface leveling to eliminate imperfections
- Maintain clean work areas and ensure dust control / shop cleanliness
- Work collaboratively with fabrication, finishing, and project teams to hit deadlines
- Track time and provide accurate progress updates on assigned tasks
Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in bodywork, automotive body, fabrication finishing, or similar trade
- Strong sanding and leveling skills (hand + DA)
- Experience using fillers, primers, surfacers, and basic prep materials
- Ability to produce straight, clean surfaces under deadline
- Comfortable using shop tools safely (sand tools, grinders, pneumatic tools, etc.)
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship
- Experience working with custom builds, props, signage, set pieces, or creative fabrication
- Fiberglass repair experience
- Ability to read build drawings or work from reference photos
- Forklift certification (or willingness to learn)

- Takes direction well and also works independently when needed
- Communicates clearly with leads and teammates
- Maintains tools, workspace, and materials responsibly
- Uses PPE properly (respirator, eye/ear protection, gloves, etc.)
- Maintains dust control and keeps shop clean
- Handles chemicals/materials correctly and safely
