Position Overview
Maritime Instructor located in Seward. No cover letter required.
What You Will Be DoingDevelop curriculum for approval by the U.S. Coast Guard, create training materials, maintain equipment, advise students on merchant mariner credential applications, operate simulators, and outreach to rural communities.

Who We Are Looking For- Education and Training:
Knowledge of teaching, research, presentations, lecturing, testing, and other instructional methods. - Oral Communication:
Clear and convincing oral presentations, effective listening, clarification. - Written Communication:
Clear, concise, organized writing for intended audience. - Flexibility:
Open to change and new information; adapt rapidly to new conditions or unexpected obstacles. - Technical Competence:
Uses formal training or extensive on-job experience to perform the job and advise others on technical issues.
- Driver's License:
Must possess a valid driver's license (proof required prior to duty). - Education and Experience Alternatives:
An industry-recognized professional certification in the applicable field; plus two years of journey-level trade experience and two years of professional training experience as above.
Positions require expertise in a particular vocational field such as culinary arts, business or office technology, applied technology, information technology, maritime operations or safety, medical services, construction, or the trades. Recruitment will be from candidates with the appropriate specialty background identified in the recruitment bulletin.
