Sea View Community Services is seeking an engaging, creative, and community-minded Director of Community Outreach to strengthen connections between our behavioral health services and the people, organizations, and communities we serve.

The Director of Community Outreach will lead Sea View's community engagement, referral development, public education, and external communications efforts. This position will build lasting relationships with community partners, improve pathways into care, and help ensure that individuals and families understand how to access Sea View's services.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator and relationship-builder who believes in the importance of accessible behavioral health care and can represent Sea View with warmth, professionalism, and credibility.

Sea View Community Services is a nonprofit behavioral health organization that has served Seward and surrounding communities since 1972. We provide a continuum of mental health, substance use, recovery, residential, outpatient, crisis, psychiatric, and community-based services.

Our work is grounded in the belief that people deserve compassionate, effective care without shame, judgment, and unnecessary barriers.

What You’ll Do

Community Outreach and Relationship Development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, healthcare providers, schools, courts, social service agencies, tribal organizations, first responders, employers, state agencies, nonprofit organizations, and other community partners.
  • Conduct regular outreach to local and statewide referral partners.
  • Schedule and participate in meetings, presentations, site visits, community events, health fairs, and informational booths.
  • Coordinate visits to Sea View from referral partners, funders, state representatives, and other stakeholders from across Alaska.
  • Represent Sea View at community meetings, coalitions, conferences, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Identify new partnership opportunities that expand access to behavioral health services and support community wellness.
  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with local schools to improve awareness, early connection to services, and coordination of behavioral health support for children and families.
Referral Pathways and Access to Care
  • Work closely with the Director of Admissions to improve referral pathways and make it easier for individuals, families, and partners to connect with Sea View's services.
  • Educate referral partners about Sea View's programs, eligibility requirements, admissions processes, and available levels of care.
  • Help partners identify the most appropriate Sea View program or service for the individuals they support.
  • Identify barriers to referrals, admissions, and care coordination and collaborate with internal and external partners to develop practical solutions.
  • Maintain regular communication with high-volume and priority referral sources.
  • Support continuity of care by strengthening communication between Sea View programs and external providers.
  • Gather feedback from referral partners and share opportunities for improvement with Sea View's leadership and program teams.
Public Education and Behavioral Health Advocacy
  • Develop and deliver presentations about Sea View's services, behavioral health needs, available community resources, and pathways to care.
  • Help community members understand when and how to seek behavioral health support.
  • Create outreach initiatives that reduce stigma related to mental health, substance use, and accessing behavioral health services.
  • Promote messages of recovery, hope, inclusion, and early intervention.
  • Ensure public-facing communications are respectful, accessible, trauma-informed, and consistent with Sea View's mission and values.
  • Respond to community questions and help connect individuals with the appropriate Sea View department or resource.
Communications, Marketing, and Digital Outreach
  • Manage Sea View's social media presence and create timely, engaging, and mission-aligned content.
  • Maintain accurate and current information on Sea View's website.
