American Traveler is hiring an experienced LTC RN with an active AK license and prior travel experience for a Long Term Care assignment in Alaska.
Requirements- Active Alaska (AK) RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Prior Long Term Care (LTC) experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Skills in respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/medication, and peripheral line care required
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE required
- Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation (one-time $10 fee)
- 2 professional references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
- Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers and declinations not accepted); candidates without proof must be willing to be revaccinated or obtain a medical exemption
- Long Term Care facility with 40 total staffed beds
- Day (4x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night (4x12, 19:00-7:30) shifts, with schedule determined by facility needs at time of start
- Patient ratio of 1:20
- Uses ECS charting system
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- 13 or 26 week assignment length, traveler's choice
- Scrub color is flexible
- Provide direct nursing care to long term care residents including medication administration, IV therapy, and respiratory support
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- No more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered for a 26-week contract, and all RTO must be submitted at time of consideration
- Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year s), with preference for availability on any holiday
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Former Providence permanent staff must be separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and travelers are limited to a maximum of 1 calendar year per assignment with a required 6-month break before returning to the same facility
- Facility may arrange a rental or facility-owned vehicle for traveler use, subject to specific terms and driver eligibility requirements
- Housing in the area is limited; candidates not accepting facility-provided housing must confirm their own housing arrangements upon signing
