LTC LVN/LPN

Position requires a licensed LVN/LPN with experience in long-term care. The candidate must have a valid Alaska license in hand before starting the assignment. Shifts will either be during the day or night based on facility needs at the time of start. Travelers will not be asked to rotate between night and day shifts, with occasional exceptions for urgent staffing needs.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:20. All caregivers are required to obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation, which incurs a one-time fee. Candidates must be willing to work at least two of the three major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's). No local candidates accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility. Candidates must float within the scope to meet facility needs.

The facility will provide a vehicle for travel around the area. Vehicle usage is restricted to within a 30-mile radius of the facility. The vehicle will be provided no earlier than 72 hours before the contract begins and must be returned if the candidate has time off during the contract. Candidates must provide a copy of a valid driver's license and proof of insurance prior to operating the vehicle.

No more than 2 weeks of scheduled time off will be accommodated during a 26-week contract. References are required covering the last year during the compliance process and prior to the start of the assignment. The position requires skills in patient care, including but not limited to admission of patients, ambulation, and monitoring vital signs. This role will involve working with adults and geriatric patients.

Patient diagnoses may include conditions like dementia, Alzheimer's, cognitive impairments, and physical impairments. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in various skills and tasks related to long-term care. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and effective environment for patient care.
