Seasonal Aquarium​/Avian Assistant

Summary:
This position is responsible for the routine care and maintenance of the avian collection and fish/invertebrate collection at the ASLC under the supervision of senior husbandry staff. This position also participates in daily talks and tours.

Education/Training Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in marine biology, biology, zoology or related field required. One to two years work experience in the animal care field. Experience with in AZA institutions preferred.

Must be able to lift and move 50lbs, run short distances if required, and have a good sense of balance.
• Ability to work around small and large groups of people. Ability to work safely with and around large, wild animals. Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Candidate must have the ability to work in an outdoor area involving uneven, slippery surfaces in potentially extremely cold and wet weather.
