Payroll Coordinator

Ameritas is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to support accurate, timely payroll for our growing financial services and insurance organization. In this role, you will process multi-state payroll, maintain employee records, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You'll collaborate with HR and Finance to reconcile data, administer deductions, and support audits, while responding to employee payroll questions with a customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time for salaried and hourly employees
• Maintain employee payroll records, earnings, deductions, and direct deposits in HRIS/payroll systems
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage, hour, and payroll tax regulations
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies with HR and Finance
• Administer payroll-related benefits deductions and contributions (401k, insurance, etc.)
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries with timely, customer-focused support
• Prepare standard and ad hoc payroll reports for Finance and management
• Support audits, internal controls, and process improvements in payroll operations
