REGISTRAR SYSTEMS ANALYST

Position Purpose

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the work of the Office of the Registrar to create and maintain permanent records of the educational experiences and attainment of the students of the University through management, analysis, and reporting of student data. This includes administration of related software tools. This is a full‑time position with full‑time benefits. Must be 19 years or older to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as principal functional lead for degree audit and planning software tools, including the compilation and programming of degree and program requirements into these tools. Keep current with updates and new features, testing, and best practices.
  • Monitor, update, and maintain accurate student data in the student information system (SIS) and related software tools.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in degree audit and other systems.
  • Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc student data reports and queries and provide analysis to support academic operations, compliance and decision‑making across the University.
  • Complete Registrar’s Office portions of IPEDS and other surveys; provide data as appropriate to fulfill other external information requests in compliance with FERPA.
  • Use problem‑solving skills and institutional knowledge to anticipate, prevent, and/or solve issues for faculty, students, and administration.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives in the Registrar's Office and contribute to such initiatives across the institution.
  • Create systems documentation and update existing documentation to reflect changes in processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for the confidential management of student academic records in accordance with policies and procedures of the Office of the Registrar and the University.
  • Collaborate on other projects, functions, additional institutional data responsibilities, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in a related area required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience – Three years of related experience; preferably working with data/records/statistics.
  • Ability to work within a variety of tools and resources to compile necessary information for the University.
  • Specialized Knowledge – Knowledge of, or ability to learn, interpret and apply rules, regulations, and laws pertaining to student enrollment records, including accreditation and certification requirements and standards.
  • Ability to make informed decisions regarding data management, systems performance, and reporting integrity.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail in all aspects of the position.

Position Requirements
  • Familiarity with higher education (administration, registrar, records, etc).
  • Prior experience with Banner, Degree Works, and Smart Plan desired.
  • Able to communicate professionally with a diverse constituency both on and off campus.
