Job SummarySupport manufacturing operations by performing general maintenance and facility upkeep to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment and infrastructure. This role assists with equipment repairs, machine moves, and preventative maintenance activities to minimize downtime and support production needs.
Job Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance and repair of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Maintain operating condition of plant equipment through routine inspections and basic repairs.
- Assist with machine moves, installations, and rebuilds.
- Support basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues.
- Operate facility equipment including floor scrubbers, sweepers, and other powered tools.
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment aligned with 5S standards.
- Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance concerns.
- Respond to maintenance requests to support production uptime.
- Assist cross‑functional teams with general facility and equipment needs.
- Support preventative maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: Previous maintenance or industrial experience preferred
Requirements/Certifications- Basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance procedures.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurement interpretation).
- Basic computer skills; experience with SAP or similar systems preferred.
- Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification required or ability to obtain.
- Demonstrated understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures prior to working on equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying physical positions frequently.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a professional setting.
- Ability to work in confined spaces when needed.
- Ability to work at elevated heights up to 25 feet.
- Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, temperature changes, and moving equipment.
- Required use of PPE in designated production areas.
- Work may include both indoor and outdoor conditions depending on assignment.
