Job Summary

Controls operation of single or multiple production machines for manufacturing products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assembles products or sub-assemblies according to verbal or written instructions, or by following blueprints or diagrams.
  • Operates hand or power tools, or production equipment.
  • Constant awareness of OE customer product requirements to ensure high quality products are consistently produced and shipped.
  • Rotate within department as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; risk of radiation from welding processes; humid conditions and heat; noise level usually loud.

EHS Requirements

When on the manufacturing floor, safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection and safety shoes must be worn. With welding operations, full welding gear should be worn if exposed to welding flash, heat and sparks.
