Harvest Processing Technician
Location:
th Rd, Seward, NE 68434
Hours:
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a half-hour lunch, Monday through Friday; some weekend and overtime during peak harvest season.
Employment period:
September 14th to December 4th (mainly October–November).
There is no laboratory component to this role. The position supports operations activities for the Nebraska soybean breeding program.
Responsibilities- Support Harvest Processing operations.
- Harvest preparation.
- Data collection using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Hand harvest of soybean.
- Machine and single head threshing.
- Seed processing.
- Seed inventory data collection and entry in Microsoft Word.
- Work both outdoors and indoors in variable conditions, with potential exposure to sun, heat, dust, and insects.
- Agronomy, horticulture, biology, and/or crop experience preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs.
- Basic computing skills needed to use Microsoft Office applications.
