LPC Aide (Lunch, Playground, Clerical)
Our school district is seeking an LPC Aide to perform various duties at our Sewell School. Employment is for 4.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday, at a rate of $15.92 per hour.
Nature and Scope of JobUnder direction, provides direct aid to students, teachers, and/or other certificated staff members; assists in the activities of school children; does other related duties.
QualificationsThe LPC Aide shall:
- Have graduated from High School or have possession of an approved High School Equivalent Certificate
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office, Google software, and general clerical abilities
- Have the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Have the ability to work with a variety of people.
- Have the ability to establish and maintain accurate records and files.
- Have the ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
- Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
- Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community, including difficult and emotional situations.
- Provide proof of U. S. citizenship or legal resident alien status by completing Federal Form I-9 in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
- Provide evidence that a criminal record history check has been conducted and clearance has been given by the Department of Education.
- Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.1 et seq.
- Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

The LPC Aide shall be employed under the following terms:
- Work year of ten months.
- Salary, leave time and conditions as determined by the Board of Education.
- Conditions established by laws and codes of the State, and policies established by the Board of Education (N.J.S.A. 18A:27-4 et seq . ).
The LPC Aide shall:
- Prepare and deliver information or materials to offices or classrooms.
- Assist staff members with clerical work, recordkeeping, preparation of displays and bulletin boards, and other non-instructional tasks as assigned.
- Prepare materials for copying and distribute them as assigned.
- Assist with supervision of students during lunch, recess, arrival and dismissal as assigned.
- Participate in in-service training as assigned.
- Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips.
- Be sensitive to and assist students with special needs. Consult with the supervisor for any clarification or assistance.
- Maintain the orderly arrangement of materials, equipment, furnishings, etc. within the school.
- Communicate to teachers and/or administration any unusual situations or needs of students. Notify immediately appropriate personnel of any evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical conditions, potential suicide, or individuals appearing to be under the influence of alcohol, or controlled substances.
- Assist teachers and/or administration in handling interruptions and emergencies.
- Maintain a safe working condition and safely operate electronic and other equipment needed to carry out job functions and responsibilities.
- Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire, and effective work ethic.
- Display ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.
- Adhere to New Jersey school law, State Board of Education rules and regulations, Board of Education policies, and contractual obligations.
- Perform any duties and responsibilities that are within the scope of employment, as assigned by the teacher, Principal, or other administrator, and not otherwise prohibited by law.
