Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Compensation: Up to $170,000 base salary plus bonus

We are supporting a confidential search for a hands‑on Controller with a growing organization in a project‑based industrial environment.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this person will lead the accounting function, manage a small team, and serve as a key financial partner to operational leadership. The role offers meaningful ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to improve financial reporting, processes, systems, and controls as the business continues to grow.

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare financial statements, management reporting, and supporting analysis
• Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and internal controls
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow reporting, and financial planning
• Partner with operational leadership on performance, profitability, and business decisions
• Oversee job costing, project accounting, and WIP reporting
• Support billing, retainage, and other project‑based accounting processes
• Improve accounting procedures, reporting capabilities, and system utilization

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• Previous people leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, close processes, GL accounting, and internal controls
• Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and within the details
• Stable employment history with demonstrated progression

• Construction, specialty contracting, industrial services, fabrication, or project‑based manufacturing
• AIA billing, retainage, or related project‑accounting processes
• CPA certification
