Bachelor’s degree in Education, valid state Teaching license or certification, and 1+ years Teaching experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available to provide 1:1 instructional support for a middle school student with Autism in a dedicated classroom setting located at the central office of an educational special services unit in Madison, IN. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction within a structured environment while collaborating closely with a full-time Aide/RBT to ensure consistent student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the students unique needs, including behavioral considerations.
- Coordinate and alternate lunch breaks with the full-time Aide/RBT to maintain continuous supervision and support for the student.
- Implement strategies and interventions consistent with the students IEP.
- Maintain regular communication with the support team and participate in virtual meetings as required.
- Adhere to district policies and complete all required documentation.
Qualifications and
Experience:
- Valid Indiana Special Education teaching certification.
- Demonstrated experience working with students with Autism.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors, including situations where the student may be violent.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with support staff.
- Willingness to work a 35-hour week, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Location:
- Work is based at the central office location in Madison, IN, serving one assigned student.
Additional Details:
- Position duration is from ASAP through the end of the school year (late May).
