POSITION TITLE: Engineer

REPORTS TO: Production Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Engineer will be responsible for locating causes of poultry production and layer equipment malfunction, repairing broken parts, optimizing operations, use of equipment, and space within the buildings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Design, evaluate, and optimize mechanical and electrical systems involved in automated poultry layer production operations, including ventilation, feeding, watering, and egg collection mechanisms.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance protocols for production machinery and electrical control systems to maximize uptime and efficiency.
Conduct root cause analysis of system failures using engineering methodologies; recommend and implement corrective actions and design modifications.
Oversee installation, calibration, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
Utilize computer monitoring systems to assess environmental controls (temperature, humidity, airflow) and support automated performance tuning.
Liaise daily with site managers, technicians, and engineering teams to communicate system performance, relay technical guidance, and drive continuous improvement.
Ensure that all engineering operations comply with OSHA safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
Provide technical oversight for generator systems and facility backup power infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

An electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, agriculture engineering, or similar degree is required.
Being able to operate skid loader, tractor, forklift, Pick-up truck, and/ or semi-tractor is preferred but not required.
Perform other engineering tasks as necessary to ensure optimal performances of all machinery.
Must have an Intermediate English-speaking level or higher.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
