Engineering Technologist II

The Engineering Technologist II is a second‑level, non‑engineer degreed technical support role. The position applies technical expertise to solve more complex problems and provides oversight and direction of work in a specialized area, with general supervision.

• Apply technical expertise in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems in the area of expertise.
• Ensure accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
• Prepare thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches with some guidance.
• Conduct engineering and related studies.
• Continuously improve job‑related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
• Develop positive working relationships to coordinate work activities. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. Maintain accurate records and files.
• Support the company’s goals and represent the company positively and professionally.

• Associates Degree in Engineering Technology and 2 years of experience

or

• High school diploma and 4 years of experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in the utility industry.
• Understanding of basic principles of project management.

• Some business units may require visits to field sites and/or plants.

• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of individuals from diverse socio‑economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Either Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology with no experience, or 2+ years of experience with an Associate Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 4+ years of equivalent experience without a degree.
