Packer, Manufacturing ​/ Production

Responsibilities

• Ensure product safety and quality in all duties.
• Promote a safe working environment.
• Understand and adhere to all Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury.
• Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or the coordinator.
• Pack at standard rate.
• Operate a punch.
• Load conveyors and flamers.
• Maintain housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine, including mopping if necessary.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Grind and pull plastic as needed.
• Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
• Initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Perform any other work assigned by the Supervisor.
• Handle materials weighing 30–40 lb.

Minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee must possess the aptitude to perform each duty proficiently.
