AAM Forge Operator

AAM is seeking a dedicated and skilled Forge Operators for 2nd and 3rd shifts

AAM designs, engineers, and manufactures systems and technologies that are making the next generation of vehicles smarter, lighter, safer and more efficient. AAM provides engine, transmission, driveline, and safety-critical components for light, commercial, and off-highway vehicles through their metal forming business unit.

• $18.01 / hour
• Full Time work available
• Various shifts available
• Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot forging operations such as flattening, straightening, twisting, forming, drawing, upsetting, splitting, cutting, punching, piercing, bending, or coining to shape or form metal.
• Work specifically with powdered metal to transform it into connecting rods.
• Operate gas or oil-fired furnaces to heat metal to the proper temperature prior to forging.
• Load and unload furnaces efficiently and safely.
• Monitor equipment operation, identify, and correct minor mechanical problems to ensure continuous production.
• Maintain accurate time and production records.
• Ensure superior quality standards are consistently met with every part produced.
• Adhere strictly to all personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines and safety protocols, especially when working with extreme heat and heavy machinery.

• 6 months to 1 year of hands-on hot forging experience.
• Proven ability to work as a Production Line Worker in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, up to a 10-hour shift, and work in high-temperature environments.
• Capable of lifting heavy materials safely and repeatedly.
• Strong ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A self-starter with a proactive approach to tasks and problem-solving.
• Willingness and flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written communication)
