Description
Position Summary
The Paint Line Loading/Unloading Operator is responsible for loading parts onto the automated paint line and unloading finished products while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring a continuous flow of material through the powder coating process and supporting overall manufacturing operations.
Loading Operations- Properly hang products and components onto the automated paint line using established loading procedures.
- Ensure correct hook placement and product orientation to achieve optimal paint coverage.
- Maintain required production rates and line speeds.
- Inspect parts before loading to identify damage, defects, or non-conforming materials.
- Prepare racks, hooks, and fixtures for production.
- Safely remove finished products from the paint line.
- Inspect coated parts for quality, coverage, appearance, and defects.
- Properly package, rack, palletize, or stage finished products according to work instructions.
- Verify quantities and ensure products are handled in a manner that prevents damage.
- Perform visual inspections of parts before and after coating.
- Use measuring devices such as tape measures to verify dimensions when required.
- Report quality concerns immediately to the Paint Line Lead or Supervisor.
- Assist in identifying and correcting production or quality issues.
- Monitor paint line flow and communicate potential bottlenecks or interruptions.
- Assist with color changes and cleaning of powder coating equipment as requested.
- Help maintain proper inventory levels of hooks, racks, packaging supplies, and other production materials.
- Support other manufacturing departments as workload demands.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Remove unused materials, scrap, and debris from the work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in safety training and report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Follow all quality, environmental, and operating procedures.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and understand work orders and production documents.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 10-hour shift.
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions using hands, wrists, and arms.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment.

- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain production pace while ensuring quality standards.

- Exposure to paint line equipment, forklifts, overhead conveyors, and industrial materials.
- Required use of PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety shoes.
