Regional Sales ManagerResponsible and accountable for planning, organizing, and implementing the sales and marketing activities, establishing and maintaining contact with existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and following up on potential leads for Japanese accounts.
Essential Duties- Implement and monitor budgets, material usage, and quality standards.
- Responsible for obtaining sales through collecting invoice dollars.
- Develop short and long-term sales strategy.
- Forecast short and long-term sales orders.
- Coordinate with credit manager to reduce bad debts.
- Aim to eliminate customer returns.
- Develop and confirm open customer specifications.
- Maintaining current customer relations, inventory control, and order control.
- Control and manager consistent sales from each customer.
- Promote communications between customers and company managers.
- Negotiate on-time delivery of supplies, prices (other than rod), and payment terms.
- Negotiate with Customers and Vendors price points for products.
- Consult with the credit department for approval on new accounts, and to maintain accounts within their credit limits.
- Effectively research, record, evaluate, and resolve customer complaints and returns; communicate with Production Management to reduce claims.
- Regularly compare your customers orders against their quantity and price commitments and communicate the information to the customer as appropriate.
- Implement price sheet as needed with your account and consult with Sales General Manager.
- Handle, maintain, and build lasting relationship with assigned territory/accounts.
- Follow up with possible leads to obtain additional business.
- Identify and formulize strategies to retain accounts with declining revenue.
- Be part of company negotiating of steel purchases for quality, quantity and price.
- Communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
- Forecast and track key account metrics.
- Identify and grow opportunities within territory and collaborate with sales team to ensure growth attainment.
- Collaborate with management to improve marketing materials.

- Bachelor’s degree or previous supervisory management required or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead an organization.
- Team oriented individual.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic technical skills to understand tools and equipment.
- The ability to think strategically and troubleshoot issues.
- Able to work with machine inspection equipment.
- Previous experience operating forklift and overhead crane in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Math and deductive reasoning skills
- Must be able to communicate and handle Japanese accounts.
- Bilingual
- English and Japanese (required) - Bachelor’s degree in business management, advertising, marketing or other related courses.
- 4+ years outside sales experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in the steel wire industry.
- Excellent customer service skills and an ability to work with all levels of staff, management, and clients.
- Experience in delivering client-focused solutions and time management skills to meet client needs.
- Self- motivated and function independently with limited supervision in performing all job duties and responsibilities.
- Excellent listening, negotiating, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Detail oriented and ability to manage multiple projects/accounts.
- Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to drive; sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in posted areas of the plant, including safety glasses, ear plugs, high visibility safety vest, and safety metatarsal shoes.
- Able to pull/lift between 20-50 lbs.
