GUEST SERVICES TEAM MEMBER – Shafter Aquatics Center

Location: Shafter, CA

Department: Guest Services

Reports to: General Manager

Status: Part‑time (Non‑exempt)

Shafter Aquatics Center is a recreation and entertainment destination focused on improving the health and economic vitality of Shafter, CA.

Position Summary

The Guest Services Team Member provides the first point of contact for all guests, delivering excellent customer service and demonstrating extensive knowledge of the facility’s programs and offerings.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Greet guests and provide information, way finding, and friendly first‑in‑class service.
  • Register guests and process payments for leagues, camps, clinics, drop‑in activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of facility programs (formats, pricing, scheduling).
  • Operate ticket sales booth and handle cash.
  • Verify all open‑gym guests have a waiver on file.
  • Confidentially maintain guest and team member information.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally or direct to appropriate manager.
  • Enforce venue policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate use and maintenance of arcade games, kiosks, and POS.
  • Oversee entertainment equipment usage.
  • Monitor inventory levels of games.
  • Understand safe usage of entertainment equipment.
  • Maintain a clean space and conduct regular walk‑throughs to ensure venue cleanliness.
  • Complete special projects, daily assignments, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, long hours) and regular attendance required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain focus in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
  • Customer service and cash handling experience preferred or quick study.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Must lift 20 pounds waist high.
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend.
  • Must operate a computer.
  • Facility has intermittent noise.

Salary: $18 – $20 per hour
