- Provide direct patient care to labor and delivery patients, including monitoring and assessments.
- Lead and document birth plans, delivery progress, and postpartum care in medical records.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and nursing team to ensure safe deliveries.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using trackers and identify deviations requiring intervention.
- Educate patients and families on labor processes, pain management, and postnatal care.
- Coordinate progress updates and ensure timely escalation for high-risk cases.
- Maintain sterile technique and uphold infection control standards during deliveries.
- Assist with cesarean sections and other operative deliveries as directed.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and data collection.
- Adhere to evidence-based practices and institutional protocols for labor and delivery.
- Assist with patient throughput and manage on-site workflow to meet targets.
- Active RN license with obstetric/subspecialty certifications preferred.
- Ability to monitor fetal/m maternal status and respond to deviations.
- Minimum 2-3 years in labor and delivery or high-risk obstetrics.
- Strong documentation skills for birth plans, progress notes, and postpartum care.
- Collaborative communication with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and nursing team.
- Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control during deliveries.
- Experience assisting operative deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Care coordination to optimize throughput and elevate high-risk cases promptly.
- Ability to educate patients/families on labor, pain management, and postnatal care.
- Participation in unit-based quality improvement and data collection initiatives.
