Standard work schedule:
Monday–Friday / 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (flexible to 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
One of our leading clients in the energy and specialty chemicals industry is seeking a Lab Technician II to join their team in Shafter, CA. This role supports laboratory operations by performing chemical and physical testing, sample preparation, and data management to ensure accurate and timely results for internal stakeholders.
This is a hands‑on laboratory position ideal for candidates with academic lab experience or 1–2 years of professional lab exposure.
Key Responsibilities- Receive, log, and track samples from internal customers using LIMS systems
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate laboratory documentation
- Conduct routine chemical and physical analyses under general supervision
- Perform mechanical and wet chemical testing on production fluids and solids
- Prepare samples for analysis (filtering, measuring, and processing)
- ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma)
- IC (Ion Chromatography)
- XRD (X-Ray Diffraction)
- XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence)
- Various handheld laboratory meters
- Assist technical support personnel in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting test results
- Support special projects as assigned
- Follow laboratory safety procedures, including proper chemical handling and hazardous waste disposal
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Biology OR 1–2 years of laboratory experience (academic or professional)
- Experience working with laboratory equipment and LIMS systems
- Strong attention to detail with ability to perform accurate, error‑free work
- Basic PC skills, including experience creating spreadsheets and reports
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Familiarity with hazardous waste disposal procedures
- Experience with advanced analytical instrumentation (ICP, IC, XRD, XRF)
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety guidelines and testing techniques
- Dependable and punctual with strong organizational skills
- Onsite laboratory setting
- Exposure to chemicals and X-ray equipment
