Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Heating Engineer role based in Shaftesbury. The Heating Engineer will install, commission, and maintain central heating systems, including renewable energy heating solutions such as heat pumps. Daily tasks include diagnosing and repairing faults, carrying out routine servicing, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. The role involves plumbing work related to heating installations, completing building maintenance tasks as required, and keeping accurate records of all work performed.

The Heating Engineer will interact directly with customers, provide clear explanations of work carried out, and uphold high standards of professionalism, safety, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications
  • Strong technical skills in central heating systems, including installation, fault-finding, and maintenance.
  • Experience working with LPG systems and a sound understanding of applicable safety standards and regulations.
  • Solid plumbing skills related to heating and hot water systems, including basic pipework and system configuration.
  • Competence in general building maintenance tasks associated with heating and renewable energy installations.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with clients.
  • Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing/Heating) and appropriate industry certifications; gas-related or renewable energy accreditations are an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics, and to complete accurate job documentation.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel locally to customer sites; strong focus on health and safety practices.
