We are best known for our signature event, the Cleveland International Piano Competition, in addition to presenting concerts and community engagement experiences for piano lovers of all ages and backgrounds.

JOB PROFILE

As Piano Cleveland’s dedicated education and community engagement professional, you will lead the day‑to‑day coordination and execution of programs that connect learners, educators, artists, and communities throughout Northeast Ohio with meaningful musical experiences. You will work closely with school and community partners to deliver a range of programs, including our in‑school workshop Keys to Read, Arts Alive, our annual collaboration with Cleveland School of the Arts, and our three active Piano Labs, managing logistics, program details, and teaching artists to ensure each program runs smoothly and effectively.

You will also coordinate our thriving Piano and Keyboard Donation Program, connecting donated instruments with students and families throughout the community. As an integral member of our nimble and collaborative team, you will bring organization, creativity, and a passion for music to the work of connecting people throughout Northeast Ohio with the piano.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee the implementation, refinement, and continued growth of Piano Cleveland’s inschool education programs including:
    • Refine and strengthen existing programs to ensure they are engaging, accessible, polished, and responsive to the needs of participating schools
    • Coordinate program implementation in Cleveland public schools, including school outreach, scheduling, logistics, and alignment with Ohio Learning Standards
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with teachers, principals, and school partners throughout the Cleveland Metropolitan School District
    • Evaluate programs and gather feedback to identify opportunities for continued refinement and improvement.
  • Manage the successful execution and continued development of Piano Lab programs in Cleveland public schools, including:
    • Work hand‑in‑hand with the Piano Lab Coordinator to provide guidance and oversight for the management and execution of one Piano Lab site, ensuring adherence to school policies while supporting effective day‑to‑day program operations and successful program delivery
    • Oversee Piano Lab teaching staff across three sites, including recruitment and hiring, scheduling, contracts, and payroll
    • Manage program logistics, including scheduling, instrument maintenance, program evaluation processes, and other program needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee the Piano and Keyboard Donation Program, including:
    • Evaluate donated pianos and keyboards to determine suitability for the program
    • Coordinate the process of matching donated instruments with eligible students and families, including communication, logistics, and follow‑up
    • Track program activity, recipient information, outcomes, and other data to support evaluation and continued growth of the program
    • Work with community partners to execute co‑created programming that serves the needs of learners of all ages.
    • Organize annual masterclasses for local students with visiting artists.
    • Plan and execute family‑friendly, educational events throughout the year, with an emphasis on opportunities taking place around Piano Cleveland’s summer programming, including workshops, masterclasses, and artist interactions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
