Phlebotomist

• Assist in determining the suitability of donors
• Establish rapport with donors to ensure customer happiness and donor confidentiality
• Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions
• Monitor donors and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality
• Set up, disconnect, and operate automated plasmapheresis machines
• Disconnect and dispose of contaminated disposable equipment
• Work in a plasma center while following occupational safety and protective-equipment requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to work a flexible schedule

• Obtain required state licensures or certifications where applicable
• Patient and reliable approach to donor care
• Exposure to biological fluids and potentially infectious organisms
• Ability to stand for 6 to 8 hours per day
• Ability to bend and twist the neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day
• Frequent hand movement and precise coordinated finger, hand, and wrist movements
• Ability to lift 15 lbs., with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
• Hearing acuity essential
• Correctable near and far vision requirements
