We are seeking a creative and motivated Graphic Design Intern to join our team for the 2026 Festival. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment while being immersed in the 16th century. As a Graphic Design Intern, you will work in the graphic design team and assist the marketing team in producing various materials, contributing to the overall success and atmosphere of the Festival.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and prioritize multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Design advertisements for a range of channels including print and digital
- Create engaging social media posts to expand our audience, increase engagement, and drive ticket sales
- Work with the team to design visual elements for themed weekend events, special promotions, and other Festival events
- Update forms, policies, and other documents to ensure consistency with our brand identity
- Help design and update on‑site signage, including directional signs and event schedules to ensure clear communication during the Festival
- Prepare final designs for both print and digital use, ensuring all assets meet technical requirements, quality standards, and brand guidelines
- Support the marketing team in executing theme weekend events and assisting with other Festival‑related tasks
- Assist in additional office duties as needed
- A recent graduate with a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (must have graduated by June 2026 to be considered)
- Understanding of typography, layout, composition, color theory, and design principles
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat)
- Strong design portfolio showcasing your creativity and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Full‑time: 40 hours per week and some weekends during the Renaissance Festival August 22 - October 4 (including Labor Day)
- Additional evenings and weekend hours as required for events and duties
- Additional hours are available in September and October, with flexibility based on event needs
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 pounds)
- Must be able to work in an outdoor festival environment, with varying weather conditions.
- Experience working in graphic design or related field
- Experience working within brand guidelines
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
